APPLICATIONS
Synthetic Rubber:
Sodium Formaldehyde Sulfoxylate is a powerful reducing agent used as a catalyst in the polymerisation of synthetic rubber and various latexes in the Paint and Adhesive industries. SFS is also widely used as an additive in the Textile processing, and most recently, in advanced water treatment systems.
SFS is primarily used as a redox catalyst in emulsion polymerisation, where uniformity, purity, and special quality control assures consistency, high yields, and good quality polymer. It is commonly used in aqueous polymerisation at pH between 3.5 and 11.
It is a very efficient oxygen scavenger, and is used as such in some polymer applications.
Furthermore, as a reductive bleach, alone or in combination with a chelating agent, it can be used to brighten plastic.
Textiles:
Main use is as a high temperature reducing agent in the direct printing of vat dyes and as the discharging agent for discharge prints.
It is also used in colour stripping of dyed wool, nylon polyester and other synthetics.
Others:
Our product can also be used as a stabilizer and/or antioxidant, in industrial and fine chemical formulations.
It is approved as an indirect food additive in 21 CFR for a number of applications in paper and rubber, where customers are certain that specific application is covered. It is also gaining usage in water treatment.
